Oral Antidiabetic (DPP-4 Inhibitor + Biguanide Combination)

Product Information

SITASMART contains two active ingredients: Sitagliptin (a DPP-4 inhibitor) and Metformin hydrochloride (a biguanide). It is an oral anti-hyperglycemic (anti-diabetic) medicine used to help reduce blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes.

  • Sitagliptin works by increasing insulin secretion and reducing glucagon release from the pancreas, which helps lower blood glucose without causing hypoglycemia.

  • Metformin decreases glucose production by the liver, reduces intestinal absorption of glucose, and improves insulin sensitivity by increasing glucose uptake and utilization.

SITASMART is available in various strengths, including 50 mg + 1000 mg tablets, and is manufactured by Sun Pharma, India.

Why is this Medication Prescribed?

  • Supports long-term diabetes control when combined with lifestyle measures

How Should this Medicine be Used?
