Product Information

Lanzol 30 Capsule is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It is prescribed for acid-related conditions such as acid reflux (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, and other disorders caused by excessive stomach acid.

It is also used to prevent stomach ulcers and acidity associated with long-term use of painkillers (NSAIDs).

  • Take Lanzol about 1 hour before a meal, preferably in the morning.
  • Continue treatment as prescribed, even if symptoms improve quickly.
  • Lifestyle changes such as eating smaller meals, avoiding caffeine and fatty foods, and not eating close to bedtime can improve effectiveness.

How Should this Medicine be Used?

    • Eat smaller, frequent meals
    • Avoid trigger foods and caffeinated drinks
    • Do not eat within 3–4 hours of bedtime
    • Maintain a healthy weight

Other Uses

Sometimes prescribed for Zollinger–Ellison syndrome (rare condition of excessive stomach acid).

Special Precautions

  • Inform your doctor if you have severe liver problems, osteoporosis, or a history of allergic reactions to PPIs.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking HIV medicines or other drugs that interact with stomach acid.
  • Long-term use (especially over 1 year) may:
    • Increase risk of bone fractures (hip, wrist, spine)
    • Cause low magnesium or vitamin B12 deficiency
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use only under medical supervision.

Most side effects are mild and improve as your body adjusts. Contact your doctor if they persist.

  • Nausea
  • Headache
  • Flatulence (gas)
  • Diarrhea

Storage & Disposal

  • Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Do not use after the expiry date. Dispose of safely.

Emergency Guidance

  • Severe allergic reaction: Stop the medicine and seek emergency help if you develop rash, swelling of lips/face/throat, or difficulty breathing.
  • Accidental overdose: Seek immediate medical care.
  • Severe persistent diarrhea, bone pain, or unusual weakness: Contact your doctor promptly.
