Product Information

Ibrunat 140mg Capsule is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of certain blood cancers, including mantle-cell lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). It is often prescribed in CLL patients who have received at least one prior therapy.

The dose and duration are determined by your doctor based on your condition and response. Your doctor may order regular blood tests to monitor your blood cell counts during treatment.

Why is this Medication Prescribed?

Ibrunat (Ibrutinib) is prescribed for:

  • Mantle-cell lymphoma
  • Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), including patients previously treated with at least one therapy

  • Slows or stops the growth of cancer cells in certain blood cancers

How Should this Medicine be Used?

  • Your doctor will monitor your blood counts regularly.

Other Uses

Research is ongoing into Ibrutinib’s role in other lymphomas and autoimmune conditions, but these are not standard uses.

⚠️ Bleeding Risk Warning

This medicine increases your risk of bleeding. Report unusual bruising, nosebleeds, blood in urine/stool, or prolonged bleeding to your doctor immediately. Seek emergency help for uncontrolled or severe bleeding.

⚠️ Heart Rhythm Risk Warning

This medicine may cause abnormal heart rhythms (atrial fibrillation, QT prolongation), which can be serious.

  • Tell your doctor if you have heart disease, low potassium or magnesium, or a family history of sudden cardiac death.
  • Report palpitations, fainting, or dizziness immediately.

⚠️ Pregnancy & Birth Defect Risk Warning

This medicine may cause serious harm to an unborn baby, including birth defects or pregnancy loss.

  • Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy.
  • Use effective contraception during treatment (and for the duration specified by your doctor after stopping).
  • If you become pregnant while taking this medicine, stop it immediately and contact your doctor.

Special Precautions

  • Infection risk: Ibrunat lowers blood cell counts, making infections more likely. Report fever, chills, cough, or sore throat promptly.
  • Bleeding risk: Avoid activities that increase bleeding or injury. Inform your doctor if you are on blood thinners.
  • Surgery: Tell your doctor if you are scheduled for surgery or dental procedures.
  • Liver function: Regular monitoring may be required.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Not recommended. May cause harm to an unborn baby. Use effective contraception during and after treatment as advised by your doctor.

Possible Side Effects

Common side effects include:

  • Headache, fatigue
  • Diarrhea, nausea, stomatitis (mouth inflammation)
  • Fever, cough, pneumonia, urinary tract infections
  • Low blood counts:
    • Anemia (low red cells)
    • Low platelets (thrombocytopenia)
    • Low white cells (neutropenia)
  • Bruising, bleeding, hemorrhage
  • Rash, dry eyes
  • Muscle, joint, or bone pain; muscle spasms
  • High blood pressure
  • Weight loss, swelling (peripheral edema)
  • Subdural hematoma (rare)
  • Second primary malignancies (rare)

Seek medical help immediately if you develop:

  • Severe bleeding, chest pain, palpitations, fainting, or signs of infection.

Storage & Disposal

  • Store in the original package, away from moisture and heat.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Do not use expired capsules.
  • Dispose of unused medicine according to local pharmacy or medical guidelines.

Emergency Guidance

  • Call emergency services if you experience severe bleeding, chest pain, fainting, or difficulty breathing.
  • In case of overdose, seek immediate medical attention or contact a poison control center.
