Product Information

Fluchrist 200 Tablet is used to treat fungal infections of the mouth, throat, vagina, and other parts of the body including fingernails and toenails. It works by destroying the fungal cell membrane, thereby stopping the growth of fungi.

Why is this Medication Prescribed?

Doctors prescribe Fluchrist (Fluconazole) to manage fungal infections when other antifungals may not be effective or when infections are recurrent.

Uses

  • Fungal infections of the mouth and throat (oral thrush)
  • Vaginal yeast infections
  • Skin, fingernail, and toenail fungal infections
  • Systemic fungal infections in other parts of the body

How Should this Medicine be Used?

  • Do not stop treatment too soon — this may cause infection to return.
  • Avoid antacid medicines within 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking Fluchrist.

Other Uses

May also be prescribed for certain systemic fungal infections in patients with weakened immune systems (including HIV/AIDS).

⚠️ Fungal Infection Treatment Warning

This medicine should always be taken for the full prescribed course, even if symptoms improve after a few days.

  • Stopping treatment too early may cause the infection to return.
  • Incomplete treatment can increase the risk of drug-resistant fungal infections.
  • Always follow your doctor’s instructions regarding dose and duration.

Special Precautions

  • Pregnancy: Do not take Fluchrist 150 Tablet if you are pregnant unless specifically advised by your doctor.
  • Breastfeeding: Inform your doctor before use.
  • Medical history: Tell your doctor if you have:
    • Heart failure or other heart problems
    • Kidney disease
    • Liver disease (including jaundice or yellow skin)
    • Weak immune system (including HIV/AIDS)
  • Driving & machinery: This medicine may cause dizziness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how it affects you.
  • Long-term use: If treatment lasts more than a month, your doctor may monitor liver function.

Possible Side Effects

Common:

  • Stomach pain
  • Headache
  • Nausea

Serious (seek immediate medical advice):

  • Allergic reactions: rash, swelling of lips/face/throat, breathing difficulty
  • Dizziness with nausea or fainting
  • Signs of liver problems: yellowing of skin/eyes, dark urine, persistent nausea

Storage & Disposal

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Do not use after the expiry date.
  • Dispose of unused tablets safely; do not flush into toilets or drains.

Emergency Guidance

  • Overdose: Seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms may include confusion, hallucinations, or seizures.
  • Missed dose: Take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double dose.
  • Severe reactions: Go to the emergency room if you experience difficulty breathing, severe allergic reactions, or uncontrolled dizziness.
