Oral Muscle Relaxant

Product Information

Flexabenz ER (Cyclobenzaprine Extended Release) is a muscle relaxant used short-term to relieve muscle spasms. It is usually prescribed along with rest and physical therapy. The medicine works on the brain and spinal cord to reduce nerve signals that cause tightness, helping muscles relax.

Why is this Medication Prescribed?

  • Relieve painful muscle spasms and stiffness.
  • Improve comfort and mobility following injury or muscle strain.
  • Support recovery when combined with rest and physical therapy.

How Should this Medicine be Used?

  • If unable to swallow whole: open the capsule and sprinkle contents onto a spoonful of applesauce.
    • Swallow immediately without chewing.
    • Rinse mouth with water and swallow the rinse to ensure full dose is taken.
    • Do not prepare the mixture ahead of time.
  • Do not crush or chew the capsule — this may release the drug too quickly and increase side effects.
