Oral Antidiabetic (DPP-4 Inhibitor + Biguanide Combination)
VILDASMART contains Vildagliptin (a DPP-4 inhibitor) and Metformin (a biguanide). It is an oral antidiabetic medicine used to improve blood glucose control in adults with type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise alone are insufficient.
VILDASMART is available in the strength 50 mg + 500 mg tablets.
VILDASMART is prescribed for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients whose blood glucose cannot be adequately controlled with lifestyle changes alone. It helps reduce the risk of long-term complications of diabetes, including heart disease, kidney disease, and nerve damage.
Currently, VILDASMART is used only for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
Do not drink alcohol while taking VILDASMART. Combining alcohol with Metformin may increase the risk of lactic acidosis, a rare but serious complication.
