Oral Anthelmintic

Product Information

Mebechrist is effective against a wide range of parasitic worm infections in children. It works by preventing the worms from absorbing essential nutrients, causing them to lose energy and die. The dead worms are then passed out of the body in the stool.

This medicine is usually taken by mouth, with or without food, exactly as prescribed by the doctor. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking Mebechrist, the same dose should be given again.

The duration of treatment depends on the type of worm infection:

  • Commonly given as a twice-daily dose for 3 days.
  • Some infections may require a longer course of a few days to weeks.
  • A repeat dose may be prescribed after two weeks to prevent re-infection.

Stopping treatment too early may cause the infection to return.
